Paul Rennison, 71, and wife Jackie, 72, live with their daughter Keri, 48, and granddaughter Rosie, 25, along with Keri’s fiance Chris Westoby, 56.
Paul fell ill first on the third Sunday of lockdown as he prepared a roast dinner.
Keri, a mental health worker, and Chris, who works in food processing, had been leaving the house to carry out their key worker roles.
But Chris had developed a cough, which is how he believes the virus entered their family home in Hull.

As Paul’s symptoms persisted, the family took the decision to completely isolate, with Keri and Jackie taking it in turns to check his temperature and oxygen levels. But last month he took a turn for the worse and was admitted to hospital for checks.
