The veteran entertainer is understood to have passed away early yesterday, surrounded by his loved ones.
Dancer, actor and choreographer, Lionel had been a prominent TV figure since the 1970s and hit the big time as a team captain in long-running game show Give Us A Clue, with Michael Aspel and Una Stubbs.
He also hosted Name That Tune and more recently appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and The Real Marigold Hotel.

Lionel was married to Susan and they had three children – comedian Matt, actress Lucy and Daniel – and three grandchildren.
Agent Ray Miller, from Whatever Artists Management, said: “He got to a very ripe old age. He was loved by his family and I think he died in their company, which is lovely.”
