Indian Industry Must Take Advantage of Various Schemes and Flood the Market With ‘make in India' Products

What all new initiatives and tie-ups ADTL is onto?

We had a big project, that is on the MI17 Helicopter Upgrade programme, the contract between Government of India and Elbit Systems, Israel, was signed about 2 weeks back. ADTL is the major Offset Partner for that Programme and we have a collaboration agreement. Elbit has selected ADTL as IOP considering ADTL’s capabilities and have worked out the work content, time constraints, resources to be employed on the basis of which we have come to an agreement. It is approximately about 30 Million Dollars. The second major development is with respect to the ISRO project. ISRO had established more than 300 static stations-satellite ground stations in the whole of the Eastern sector to give a Priority to the Eastern sector to have educational satellite communication systems, weather warning systems, tele-medicine, etc. Though the integrated satcom system was established 10 years back, quite a large number of them have either become obsolescent or non-functional and there were issues with respect to networking also. So in a conversation with the Chairman ISRO, the later asked us why we don’t look into it. We sent a team, analysed the problems and finalized the proposal. ISRO considered it as a part of competitive bidding process. However, we became L1 to NE India Project and the day Aero India exhibition started, straight away 15 of our engineers were sent to NE India and they are still working there to undertake this task of national importance.
