Programme of requirements:

Overlapping of functions and multifunction areas increase the value of a salon without increasing the cost. Areas should have flexibility to take up a secondary function. For example, Beauty rooms should be such that facials, waxing and spa activities can be done, or a Makeup room can double up as counseling room. The first step towards designing such a salon or spa is to have the optimum programme of areas and the right balance between service activities, which depends upon demand of services, brand USP and the floor plate available.
