LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO HAVE BORING HAIR. THANKFULLY, THE WORLD WITNESSED THE BIRTH OF FUTURE MALAYSIAN AND SINGAPOREAN HAIR MAESTROS AT ASIA’S LARGEST CROSS-CULTURAL HAIR-DESIGN PHOTO COMPETITION, THE SHISEIDO PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY INNOVATOR AWARD.
Returning for its fourth year running, the Shiseido Professional Beauty Innovator Award 2016/2017 marked the first dual country results ceremony for Malaysia and Singapore. Held at the KLCC Convention Centre, the winners of the coveted Total Creation award and its new Color Creation award were revealed for each respective country.
Malaysian and Singaporean finalists arrived dressed to kill at the red-carpet ceremony, with renowned hair stylists, media reps and celebrities making up the guest list. During the cocktail reception, guests had the opportunity to admire the 35 creative entries contending for the top award. The Supplementary award winners were also announced before the official event began.
This year’s Beauty Innovator Award kicked off with a video by Shiseido Professional’s Beauty Creative team, its artistic ambassadors and local personalities. Shunji Matsuo represented Singapore with a mesmerising opening show called ‘Color Me Japan’, bringing to life the playful side of the Land of the Rising Sun, where models strutted down the runway sporting brightly-coloured avant-garde hairstyles.
