After so many years in bollywood of fame and several blockbuster hits to his credit, never will you see actor Ajay Devgn flaunt his status or throw his attitude in the face. The suave actor, known for acting-oriented performances in comedy and action alike, is all set to prove his intensity as an actor yet again with Shivaay. Delhiites Magazine caught up with Ajay Devgn during his promotional stints in the city
From a ‘serious’ actor to an entertainer, he has come a long way. A reclusive Devgn who once shunned the press is now comfortable with all the attention.
Q. Should we, as an audience, expect another action movie in Shivaay? I don’t call Shivaay an action-thriller. It is an emotional drama. It is beyond an action film because it doesn’t carry “stylised or king-size action”. When the actor is doing action in a scene, there’s pain on his face. My character in the film is all about protecting my child.
Q. How challenging was direction for you?
Neither acting was a challenge nor direction but production was. I have done direction even before without taking credit and acting has been a part of me since I entered Bollywood. With production comes a whole lot of responsibility.
Q. This film has some thrilling stunts and you also mentioned how production was a challenge. How was it to shoot in Bulgaria?
I would say it was dangerous because it was extremely cold out there around -20 Degree Celsius. Even dialogue delivery was difficult in such weather conditions. It was my passion to make all this happen but I was lucky to have my team by my side, supporting me in this endeavour. In terms of action, the terrain and location was the main difficulty for which a lot of prep was required. With god’s grace, everything went well and ended on a comfortable note.
Q. What precautions were taken during the shoot?
