A watch such as the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpétuel deserves to be celebrated. If someone walks into any room wearing this, the conversation should automatically grind to a halt, and pick up exclusively around the watch. To be sure, this is not an everyday watch because even the ordinary movement of its hour and minute hands are beyond the pale (thanks to the remontoir d’egalite that keeps the escapement going, and gives the minute hand a distinctive and precise jump at every minute). In the end, one would have to decide what room deserves to be graced by the watch, limited as it is to just 18 pieces, exclusively in white gold. It quietly threatens to outshine everything in its presence so one should deploy it with great care because, as they say in the Marvel universe, with great power comes great responsibility.
