While there are things that might be wise to turn down (yep, you should always pass up a ghost pepper burrito if an en fuego mouth doesn’t exactly sound fun), there’s a lot you should give a big nod to—especially when it comes to going after those goals of yours.

FACE TIME WITH A NEW CREW

A girl you kinda-sorta know asks you to her BBQ. The catch? You’ve spent zero time hanging with her friends. While it can be nerve-wracking, you’ll never get to know new people unless you, well, actually talk to them. Sure, you can ask your hostess for a job like passing around munchies, but why not move past those wallflower worries and (smoothly) join the pack? Do it with a quick compliment and question. (Try: “Oh, I love your necklace. So, how do you know Maggie?”) Boom—you’re in.
