True to MCM’s whimsical approach with its seasonal campaigns, the SS’21 collection is a stylised embodiment of reality and fantasy. A continuation of their last campaign exploring the relationship between fashion and technology, this season’s collection Techno Garden explores the convergence between natural and digital domains. In this brave new world, lush Arcadian landscapes are met with cyber-infused tundras – a crossover of the virtual and hyperreal realms.
While nature and technology have traditionally been portrayed as opposing ends of a spectrum, MCM reimagines them in a harmonious duality. Drawing from the rich palette of African geoscapes, desert-inspired nudes and demure pastels are juxtaposed with holographic blues and firefly reds.
