JANE McDONALD: MY YORKSHIRE NEW SUNDAY / CHANNEL 5 / 9PM / EP 1 of 6 / TRAVELOGUE
Jane McDonald knows there is no place like home. And now the popular singer and presenter, who was born and bred in the cathedral city of Wakefield, will be sharing stories from her childhood as she revisits old haunts and showcases hidden gems in ‘God’s own country’ for her brand-new Channel 5 travelogue, Jane McDonald: My Yorkshire.
Here, in an exclusive interview, Jane, 58, tells TV Times more about the six-part series…
What inspired you to explore Yorkshire for this show?
I don’t think there’s a single TV show I’ve done where I haven’t mentioned Yorkshire, so this is my love letter to Yorkshire, with me telling viewers, ‘This is why I keep going on about it!’
It’s the place that has made me who I am. And making this show is the best thing I’ve ever done –it’s made me appreciate where I live more than ever.
