The Kirloskar Heiress!
Citadel|February 2017

Classy, sophisticated and unassuming, she is a rare combination of being humble in spite of the immense amount of wealth and influence she has been brought up with... In conversation with the Kirloskar legatee, MANASI KIRLOSKAR...

Swapna Iyer
The Kirloskar Heiress!

A name that has been a lot in the news and business circles lately is none other than Manasi Kirloskar, daughter of Vikram and Geetanjali Kirloskar, and also the sole heiress of the Kirloskar legacy!

Of course, from the number of dailies and news channels that she has been featured in and appeared on, you sure do tend to have your own set of apprehensions at approaching her for an interview.

But she knows her schedule to the T and is quick with a date and time; gratefully merging it with her stay at her father, Vikram Kirloskar’s Lakaki home in Pune, the former residence of the late SL Kirloskar, Manasi’s great grandfather.

We decide to have an early meet in the day and as we get there, we are directly ushered into the room where the interview is scheduled. Greeted warmly, without any trace of being a Kirloskar legatee, Manasi scores her brownie points instantly!

If you thought it couldn’t get any better, then there is more to it…her grandmother, Shashitai Kirloskar, known all over for her hospitality, ensures that we all are fed first and only then get to work! And Manasi is surely getting her traits from her grandmother, for she is one of the best hostesses you can ever come across.

Yes, she is not the kind who would get pally instantly, but once she chooses to open up, she is one of the most genuine persons you would have ever met! Thankfully, she was her candid self.

Spontaneous as it could get, she is not one of those fussy kinds who demand for the questionnaire before so that they are ready with the ‘answers’ for the interview!
