Being cast as super-cool millennial Jessa in coming-of-age TV show Girls in 2012 made a household name of Jemima Kirke. The era-defining, sometimes shocking show provided countless "water cooler" moments and had us all talking.
Jemima, who was born in England and raised in America, is now returning to our screens in Conversations With Friends, the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's best-selling tale of troubled relationships and open marriages. And if the success of Rooney's previous small-screen adventure Normal People is anything to go by, we'll all be raving about Jemima again soon.
Explaining her decision to take on the role of Melissa, Jemima says, "I read the book and loved it. There was something about the quietness of the story that intrigued me. The story lies in the mundane and everyday comings and goings of the couple, friends and their everyday conversations."
