WHETHER IT’S A CABIN on the Columbia River or a pool house overlooking L.A., vacationers all seem to want the same thing: privacy, beauty, and affordability.

That’s according to data from Airbnb, the popular website that allows travelers to veer off the beaten path—and save a buck—by renting rooms or entire houses from homeowners across the U.S. and the world.
