En el imaginario popular viajar es, sin duda algu-na, conocer sitios, tener experiencias únicas, di-vertirse, relajarse o desaparecer. Esas sensaciones son las que todavía no se conocen, pero sí que definen a Costa Rica. Cataratas y guacamayas, arquitectura bárbara, árboles centenarios, cafe-tales y volcanes que hacen referencia al ‘pura vida’ que recorre a esta nación, dejando bastante atrás el capricho de la expresión. Es ese enunciado, ‘pura vida’, el que refleja cada momento de mi evocador viaje al país centroamericano y el que ha llenado un cuaderno de inspiración que plasmaré en mi próxima colección para el verano del 2020.
Antes de iniciar cualquier ruta costarricense, la capital reclama un par de días de visita. Caótica y bulliciosa a primera vista, San José se revela como una ciudad llena de contrastes y magnetismo. Ahí, una de las mejores opciones para albergarse es el Gran Hotel Costa Rica, situado en el epicentro del bulevar peatonal de la Avenida Central. Su restaurante, presidido por un piano de cola que ameniza las veladas, permite apreciar unas vistas espléndidas de la ciudad y, en primer plano y de noche, merece la pena ver iluminado desde arriba el imponente Teatro Nacional.
