Tamil Nadu Assembly on Monday passed a Bill for permanent exemption from the central medical exam National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for students of the state. The Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Medical Degree Courses Bill, 2021 was passed with support from all parties except BJP. A 20-year-old NEET aspirant had earlier died by suicide hours before the exam.

The Karnataka cabinet on Thursday decided to repeal the anti-conversion law brought in by the previous BJP government.
The government will introduce a bill in this regard in the upcoming legislature session, which starts on July 3.

A 10-member CBI team, which is in Odisha to probe the triple train accident, inspected the tracks, signal room and talked to railway officials at Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore district on Tuesday.
