We have been taught, what goes around, comes
around. Some people believe that if one does good
deeds in this life, there will be benefits in subsequent
lives. Research suggests, doing good activates your
brain’s pleasure center, it is called a helper’s high. For this issue, we
speak to spiritual teacher, Sister BK Shivani on aspects of karma,
leadership and much more.
On Karma she says, it is every thought, word and action. Every intention
is key to all the energy that we create and all the energy that
we create is – karam. The law of karam is that whatever happens, it
will rebound and come back. It is very simple as every karam will have
a result and a consequence. It is like a ball. If you throw it on the wall
it will come back. But the period at which this ‘ball’ will come back
might be a year, or ten years or even a hundred years. If it comes back
in a hundred years, by then you would have changed my physical
‘costume’. The karam was not done by the body, it was done by the
soul. So no matter how many times you change your body, the karam
is with you. The karmic account goes on no matter which body you
take. Our definition these days of life, birth, past life, rebirth are not
present for the soul. The soul is on a journey where it takes several
‘costumes’, interacts with people – it does its karam and also changes
its costume. Living life with that awareness makes us realise that
all that is there is the soul and our karam.
