Driver who injured little girl is jailed

A VAN driver who knocked down and seriously injured a four-year-old girl has been sentenced to 10 months in prison and been banned from driving for 20 months.
Jolanta Motiejuniene was carrying out charity collections in a Mercedes Sprinter van when she collided with the child as she rode her balance bike in Waun Burgess, Carmarthen, in February 2023.
The girl suffered life-threatening injuries, from which she is continuing to recover.
The 48-year-old defendant had previously been convicted at trial of causing serious injury by careless driving when she returned to the dock of Swansea Crown Court for sentencing.
