Estate agent's disappearance will stay mystery, says brother

- BY DAN WARBURTON

THE family of missing estate agent Suzy Lamplugh fear the police are about to shelve the cold case probe into her disappearance.

Prime suspect John Cannan, 70, a convicted murderer, died in jail nearly a year ago. Suzy's case is one of Britain's most notorious unsolved crimes.

The body of the 25-year-old, who vanished on July 28, 1986, was never found and in 1994 she was declared dead, presumed murdered.

Her brother Richard Lamplugh, 65, said Met Police officers indicated the investigation would be scaled back after the 40th anniversary.

Scotland Yard told this paper the investigation was ongoing and they were continuing to pursue leads into Suzy's murder. But Richard said: "We know they are coming to the end of the case. They said they want to keep the case open until next July when it is the 40th anniversary of Suzy's disappearance.
