JuanHand lending gains traction, disburses P7O B loans in 6 years

|November 17, 2025
Financial technology lender JuanHand is seeing more Filipinos borrowing to fund small businesses and income-generating activities as the platform crossed P70 billion in cumulative loan releases as of September.
In an interview with The STAR, JuanHand president and CEO Francisco Mauricio said the company has grown steadily since launching six years ago. JuanHand is the Philippine arm of New York-listed FinVolution Group.
“We have over P70 billion loans disbursed since we started six years ago. We have over three million active users at any given time and we have over 20 million registered users. That’s why, if we’re not the leading fintech lending app in the Philippines, we're one of the top three.”
Mauricio said borrowing behavior on the platform has changed as more users tap credit to grow micro enterprises. He explained that emergency needs, utility payments and seasonal expenses once dominated loan purposes. Today, a rising share of borrowers use funds to earn additional income.
