Seven-point special plan in place to regulate movement of devotees on Basant Panchami
AFTER the Mauni Amavasya stampede that claimed at least 30 lives, the Maha Kumbh Mela administration is on its toes to ensure compliance with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directive of "zero error" ahead of Monday's final Amrit Snan on Basant Panchami.
Mela police on Sunday implemented a seven-point special plan to regulate the movement of devotees flocking the Prayagraj ghats to take holy dips.
The plan includes a no-vehicle zone in mela area, one-way traffic system, restrictions on vehicles entering Prayagraj limits, diversion plan through barricades, holding areas, and no overcrowding on ghats.
The UP government had announced deployment of two senior officers - Ashish Goyal and Bhanu Chandra Goswami - who had been posted in Prayagraj earlier and have the experience of Mela management.
