Waves Sweep Away Tourists, Four Die at Thikkodi Beach

SUNDAY evening turned tragic for a group of gym-goers from Wayanad when powerful waves at the crowded Thikkodi Kallakath beach in Kozhikode claimed the lives of four people, including two women.
The victims were part of a 26-member recreational trip organised by Kalpetta's 'Body Shape' gym.
The deceased are Faisal, a native of Bellarankunnu; Bineesh, 40, a CPM local committee member from Kalpetta North; Aneesa, 35, a gym trainer from Tharuvan-na; and Vani, 32, from Ambileri. Jincy, the lone survivor of the group of five who entered the water, is currently undergoing treatment at Koyilandy Taluk Hospital.
