NALCO to invest ₹30,000 crore in smelter and power plant by 2030

NATIONAL Aluminium Company (NALCO) will invest ₹30,000 crore in setting up an aluminium smelter and a coal-based power plant by 2030, chairman and MD Brijendra Pratap Singh announced on Thursday.
It plans to allocate ₹18,000 crore for establishing the proposed aluminium smelter in Odisha, which will be funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt. An additional ₹12,000 crore is earmarked for the coal-based power plant, for which NALCO is in talks with Coal India and NTPC.
