When Centre has announced caste enumeration, what is the need for re-survey, asks MP
MYSURU-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has urged the state government to withdraw its decision to conduct a fresh caste survey stating that the Central government has already announced caste enumeration as part of the upcoming national census.
Addressing newsmen at the BJP office here on Wednesday, Yaduveer criticised the state government for discarding the earlier caste survey conducted by the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission under then chairman K H Kantharaj, which cost the exchequer ₹165 crore. "The report has been thrown into the dustbin," he remarked.
