HANDED 10 YEARS IN PRISON FOR VICIOUS KNIFE ATTACK

- By ESTHER HALLIGAN

A GUISBOROUGH dealer who was embroiled in gang culture and violence and launched a vicious attack on the woman who cared for him when he was young has been jailed.

Tracy Wilson took Cartel Collinson in, but years later she said she was heartbroken when he turned on her, aged 20, after she tried to stop him beating a woman who owed him money.

Collinson was high on drugs himself, on the night of November 25 last year.

He had gone upstairs to try and retrieve cash from a woman in a drugs den on Woodhouse Grove in Guisborough.

When Ms Wilson heard him threatening and hitting a woman, she tried to get him to stop. But Collinson began punching her in the face.

He held a kitchen knife to her face and her throat. Annelise Haugstad, prosecuting, told Teesside Crown Court that Collinson stabbed Ms Wilson twice to the top of her head. He told her: 'I'm going to kill you and I'm going to kill (the woman who owed him drugs money)."

Collinson then tried to stab Ms Wilson in the neck - but the knife snapped when it hit her collarbone. He went downstairs and got a screwdriver.
