Tough URC start for SA

South Africa’s United Rugby Championship (URC) teams are set for a tricky start to the 2025-26 season, which kicks off next weekend, with three of their opening five games to be played on the road.
The Bulls and Stormers will have a big opportunity to get their campaigns off to a good start with their first two matches at home, while the Sharks and Lions face a tough ask with their first three games all away.
It will, however, be interesting for both the Bulls and Stormers, to see what kind of team Leinster will bring for the start of the competition, as that could make for a difficult encounter if they bring a full strength squad.
