AFP suspends 'DAGIT-PA' exercise due to typhoon

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) suspended the field training component of its annual joint military drills, AJEX DAGIT-PA 09-2025, as it redirected troops and resources to respond to the potential devastation of super typhoon "Uwan" on Sunday, Nov. 9.

In a statement, the AFP said the decision was made to "immediately shift focus toward humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operations," emphasizing that the safety and welfare of communities remain the military's top priority.

"The priority and resources of all personnel, including approximately 2,000 troops, are now fully devoted to pre-disaster preparedness and rapid response in affected areas," the military said.
