Kaizer Chiefs CAF Draw

- Itumeleng Khune

I want to congratulate Kaizer Chiefs for making it to the CAF Confederation Cup group stages. It's been a while since we've seen Chiefs competing at this level in continental football, and the supporters deserve this. Unfortunately, they got a tough draw. AI Masry, Zamalek and Zesco United those are big names in African football. Egypt and Zambia, those are going to be very tough trips away from home. I have memories of Egypt, you know. I remember when we played against AI Ahly a few years back. The atmosphere there was incredible - the fans, the noise, everything. Unfortunately, we lost that game. But that's football-sometimes things don't work out the way you want them to. Egyptian teams have this experience in continental competitions that you can't buy. They know how to handle the pressure, they know how to make their home ground a fortress. Now Chiefs have to go back there and this time they need to get a result. The group is not easy at all. Zamalek is a big team with so much history in African football. They have won the CAF Champions League multiple times. AI Masry too they might not be as big as Zamalek, but they're still a quality side. Zesco United from Zambia know how to play at home. The altitude in some of these away games, the travel, the different conditions - all of this will test Chiefs. They will have to be at their best, both physically and mentally. But I believe in the team. I believe they can do well in this competition if they approach it with the right mentality.

Adams faces race against time

Jayden Adams' international future hangs in the balance, and the countdown has officially begun. With just one month remaining before Hugo Broos finalises his squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, the 24-year-old midfielder finds himself in a position few would have predicted two years ago. Once a rising star of Stellenbosch FC and a standout performer at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast, Adams now faces the harsh reality of reduced game time at Mamelodi Sundowns and uncertainty around his Bafana Bafana role. The player who earned his way into Broos' plans through hard work and consistency has slipped into unfamiliar territory at club level, and his national team prospects have dimmed as a result. The Siya crew has been tracking his situation closely, uncovering worrying signs behind the scenes as Adams fights to keep his AFCON dream alive.
