Iconic ice cream truck features on medal for runners keepsake

RUNNERS in this year's Bideford 10k will be going the extra mile for more than just glory with a new medal shaped like the town's favourite ice cream van and the chance to qualify for national honours.

Bideford Amateur Athletic Club (AAC) has unveiled a bespoke finisher's medal for the race on Sunday, May 11, created in partnership with local business Hocking's Dairy Cream Ices.
Designed by assistant race director Jamie Blackman, the medal pays tribute to the town's identity and community spirit while celebrating each runner's achievement.
The 2025 race also carries added significance, as it is an official qualifier for the England Athletics Age Group Masters Programme.
