Manhunt after 19-year-old suffers 'significant injuries'
Liverpool Sunday Echo
|November 09, 2025
CRIME scene investigators descended on a Huyton street after the shooting of a 19-year-old man.
The teenager was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being shot in the leg and back at around 8.50pm on Friday.
Emergency services were called to Manley Road, Huyton, following reports a man had sustained gunshot injuries outside an address on the street. The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he remained in a serious condition yesterday.
A police cordon was put in place on Manley Road while officers carried out house-to-house enquiries and CCTV reviews. The cordon remained in place throughout Saturday, spanning the whole street between Elizabeth Road and Tarbock Road. A second, smaller cordon in the middle of Manley Road could be seen within the larger restricted area.
Police vans, Matrix vehicles, and crime scene investigators in white protective gear were spotted at the scene. Residents living on Manley Road were required to provide their names to attending police officers, who said the closure was likely to remain in place throughout the weekend.
