Council chief feels 'deceived and betrayed' over scheme

A senior Preston politician says he feels betrayed after a major housing scheme in the city appears to have stalled.

Onward Homes has applied to extend permission for a temporary car park on the Horrocks Mill site which is due to become hundreds of new social homes and apartments spanning a swathe of empty land between Queen Street and Church Street.
Preston City Council has committed to buying a number of the new social properties - as part of the Labour-controlled authority's aspiration to see more council-owned homes in the city again.
