Kharge cites Sardar Patel’s action, seeks a ban on RSS

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday called for aban on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), alleging a link between the organisation and growing law and order problems inthe country, and saying that the organisation is trying to taste the “venom ofa snake already killed” by reviving “harmful forces” that have long ended.
Speaking on the occasion of Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, Kharge said that the ban would be in keeping with Patel's own decisions as home minister after Independence, referring to the ban on the organisation in 1948 after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
“In my personal opinion, and I will say this openly thatit [the ban] should be implemented because if the PM and [Amit] Shah give respect to things that Vallabhbhai Patel has said, then it [the ban] should be done. Whatever law and order issues are cropping up in the country are because of BJP and RSS,” Kharge said in response toa question by the press,
