Worn-out paper scrolls available with the teerth purohits bear testimony to the ancestral details of families and even mention the dates of Sangam visits by previous generations
MAHAKUMBH NAGAR (PRAYAGRAJ): Over the centuries, teerth purohits (pilgrim guides) have evolved a customized database management of intricate details of crores of Hindu families, which had arrived at the Sangam at some point of time or the other.
Paper scrolls with frayed edges bear mute testimony to the ancestral details of family, their address, caste and sect. Some even maintain the dates of visits of a member of any generation to the Sangam, and also special ceremonies, if any, performed by the ancestors.
