Loose Women star ready to forge ahead after dark times
RUTH Langsford has confessed she went through a dark period after her split from her husband Eamonn Holmes after 14 years.
But the TV presenter has had counselling and come out the other side feeling positive about the future. So much so that Ruth, 65, even says she is open to marrying again one day.
The Loose Women panellist has opened up about the tricky period that followed the announcement last May that she and Eamonn had separated.
The past 18 months brought some testing times and the mum-of-one is still seeing a counsellor to talk through any issues that arise from the divorce.
Ruth says: "I definitely see light in the future where I didn't before. Before, I saw darkness and was thinking, 'Oh my God, what's going to happen?'
Quoting the famous Gloria Gaynor song, she adds: "But now the fear has gone, because what do you do? Do you crumble? Do you lay down and die? Oh no, not I. I will survive."
She and GB News presenter Eamonn made public their separation last year amid reports they had been living separate lives for some time.
They wed in 2010 but were together for more than a decade before that.
Ruth has been keeping a dignified silence — but she has had to watch on as Eamonn, 65, began a new relationship with 43-year-old girlfriend Katie Alexander, with the pair regularly going to events and on holiday together.
Ruth remains single but says she would be open to a relationship.
