Billionaire Tory donor accuses ministers of 'lack of ambition'

BILLIONAIRE Tory supporter John Caudwell has accused the Government of lacking vision in the drive for eco-friendly technology.

The founder of Phones4U, who was the party's biggest donor before the last election, says ministers are "dithering on the sidelines" and not showing enough ambition as the March 6 spring Budget looms.

Mr Caudwell, 71, who said in December he was considering switching allegiance to Labour, said: "For too long in the United Kingdom, we chased have short-term solutions instead of having a long-term strategy.

"This lack of Benefits... vision has set the UK back time and again and we are seeing the results now in our Aiken energy, infrastructure and economy.
