Taking measures to ensure safety, reinforce ops: Air India CEO

Air India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) Campbell Wilson on Wednesday sought to reassure members of the Maharaja Club — the airline's frequent flyer programme — that their concerns around flight safety were understandable, given the "heightened scrutiny" following the AI171 crash and regulatory findings.
In an email to Maharaja Club members, he said that the airline is taking steps to ensure safety and reinforce operations, inspections, and training. "Following the tragic accident of AI171 in June, it is understandable that there is heightened scrutiny, coverage, and concern about air travel," Wilson said.
