Moore's the merrier as his double strike secures win
Burton Mail
|October 06, 2025
SAM Moore scored twice in the first half as Gresley Rovers won 2-1 away to March Town United in the UCL League Cup.
-
Rovers started well, with Liam Kavanagh hitting the bar with a free kick after 11 minutes.
Ryan King then had a shot from distance which flew wide.
But the first goal was not long coming.
After 26 minutes, Ash Garner had a shot blocked but Moore was on hand to ram the rebound into the net.
The first attempt of note for March, perhaps predictably known as the Hares, came after half-an-hour mark but Toby Allen's shot lacked the power to trouble’ keeper Tom Everest-Wilcock.
The Moatmen doubled their advantage with a well taken goal after 38 minutes.
