Rugby Boss Lam keeping options open following MacGinty injury

AT Lam said he would not rule out turning to the transfer market after losing fly-half AJ MacGinty to a suspected Achilles injury in the 42-24 win at home to Leicester Tigers.
MacGinty limped off after less than 13 minutes after falling down off the ball. To make matters worse, his halfback partner Harry Randall came off before halftime with a hamstring strain and, after the break, Gabriel Ibitoye pulled up while chasing his own kick.
Speaking post-match, Bears director of rugby Pat Lam said: “AJ looks like he has done his Achilles. That looks the most serious. Harry Randall and Gabriel Ibitoye are hamstring injuries. One thing about AJ, he’s so professional. In the past he’s come back quicker, so it’s a great challenge for our medical team.”
The relief for Lam is summer signing Tom Jordan expectly moved from fullback to fly-half to replace the USA international and did so to aplomb, walking off with 15 points and the player of the match award.
