Master’s graduate Afua Osei, 31, is the co-founder of She Leads Africa – a media platform that helps young African women find success in their career by providing digital content, live experiences and learning opportunities
-
I’m passionate about helping women make money. While money isn’t everything, it can definitely give women the power to pursue their education, live in a safe environment and decide their future. I want to teach young women that there’s nothing wrong with making lots of money. Wealth can be a tool for good. By sharing opportunities for wealth generation, we can make an impact in our communities.
Business ideas should be a culmination of your experience. When I was in business school, I had incredible support when it came to landing a good job. There were career coaches, CV reviews and mock networking sessions to ensure we were prepared to ace the interview and succeed in the workplace. When I first visited Lagos in 2012, I realised very few young women had access to that level of career advice and support.
