Creating a tiny landscape of your favourite outdoor space is not only a meditative project - its beauty can last for years. The landscape is created by layering materials in a glass container and complementing those layers with plants. Each layer serves a purpose, and together they make a healthy and beautiful place for your plants to live.
Supplies
• Glass container
• Small lava rock
• Horticultural charcoal
• Potting soil
• Plants
• Scissors, tweezers, chopsticks, etc., depending on the shape and height of your container
• Assorted river rock and/or other decorative rocks.
Choosing a container
Whether it's a recycled pickle jar or a hand-blown glass vessel, there is a container to suit every style. We highly recommend using a container you have on hand, or finding one at a second-hand store.
