Devon women aiming to revive meaningful dating

> Naomi and Carla of Exmouth-founded New Connexions

Carla and Naomi are the duo behind Exmouth-founded New Connexions - a social events company that is seeking to revive real, face-to-face relationships in a world that has arguably lost the art of genuine interaction.

Before they were business partners, Carla and Naomi were two women from different walks of life, united by a shared belief - that human connection should be joyful, meaningful, and, above all, real.

Carla, a former creative director and stylist, said: “I’ve always been drawn to projects that connect emotion with creativity. New Connexions feels like a natural continuation of that - bringing people together through meaningful experiences”

Naomi brings energy and people skills honed through years in real estate and customer-facing roles. “I'm a natural social butterfly,’ she said. “I've always loved being around people. My work has always revolved around building trust and connection, so this project felt like the perfect way to turn that passion into something bigger for others”

‘The idea that modern dating needs a drastic overhaul came not from a business plan but from personal experience.

“lve seen so many people - including myself - feel drained by modern dating,’ Naomi said. “It's all swipes and screens now, and it's lost the heart.”
