Loose netting removed from Tesco store after birds become trapped

A TESCO store in Cornwall has removed “dangerous” netting from the side of its building after several birds became tangled in it.

It comes after concerns were raised by a shopper for the welfare of three jackdaws which became trapped in the netting outside the store in Helston.

Laura Eggleton, from Carnon Downs, visited the store last month and noticed that quite a large section of the netting had come loose and was hanging down.

She then spotted three birds caught in it, with one in particular seeming visibly distressed.

Despite informing staff inside the store of the issue, Laura said she was told it was on their “priority list” but was not fixed.
