Tributes paid to town band stalwart for 58 years service

A NIGHT of music and heartfelt tributes filled the air as Tiverton Town Band honoured Graham Pillivant for an astonishing 58 years of service, during a special concert held in support of the Mayor's Community Fund.
The evening, hosted at the New Hall, featured a stirring programme of traditional and popular brass music under the baton of guest musical director David Boorer.
The concert also marked the final performance of the In Harmony singing group, drawing a close to their longstanding connection with the town.
The spotlight of the evening, however, belonged to Mr Pillivant - Tiverton's principal trombonist and a stalwart of the band since the 1960s. In a moving second half of the event, community members and dignitaries alike shared stories and accolades reflecting his enduring legacy.
