RTUSAMHARA, a solo exhibition by artist and art historian Shibani Sehgal held at Triveni Kala Sangam, 205 Tansen Marg, New Delhi, just concluded. The artist has used mixed media on paper medium and displayed fifteen of her artworks.
Subtitled, “Romancing the Chaos” the exhibition drew its spirit from John Milton's “Paradise Lost” exploring the theme of how in the beginning heaven and earth rose from chaos. The exhibition explores the delicate balance between chance and order. Sehgal transforms fragments of paper, often discarded remnants, into lyrical collages that echo the vitality of spring, or Rituraj Basant.
A Dance Between Chaos and Meaning
Sehgal describes collage as “painting without a brush”. She cuts, layers, and composes intuitively, allowing fragments to fall into place until they settle into surprising harmonies. Her works are shaped not by rigid plans but by discovery—where intuition guides chance into form.
