RABIN ANGELES CHANNELS INNER DRAKE PALMA IN WATTPAD ADAPTATION

In the soon-to-be-streamed Viva One series, Rabin will play Drake, a smart but aloof guy from a rich family. He's the type who can sleep through class yet still get perfect scores in exams. Girls are all over him, but he doesn't take any of them seriously.

But then, here comes Alys, a girl who's got a great sense of humor and a never-say-die attitude. If she wants something done, there is no stopping her. Unfortunately for Drake, he is now her mission.

Rabin said at a presscon that his character as Drake is unlike Yuri. "Drake is a very deep person and he doesn't talk much," he explained.

It's a new challenge for the young actor because he was used to delivering tons of lines in his earlier acting projects.

"But with Drake, he doesn't have lines. So your eyes have to speak to show your emotions. It was challenging," he added.

"Mission Impossible: Seducing Drake Palma" was offered to Rabin after "Ang Mutya ng Section E" and he was delighted to be entrusted with this new role by Viva executives.

"Si Yuri palaging malapit siya kay Jay-jay (played by Ashtine Olviga). In the last few episodes, he would fight for Jay-jay. As Drake, nag-start kami na parang sinusungitan ko si Alys Perez. Parang naninibago pa po ako but I'm working on it," Rabin told The STAR when asked about his experience of transitioning from one character to another.

Navigating toward a prosperous future together

The Philippines will begin its chairship of the ASEAN in January 2026. For this, the Philippines has chosen the theme “Navigating Our Future Together.” In his acceptance speech at the recently concluded 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. likened ASEAN to a ship setting full sail toward a shared horizon - anchored in peace, strengthened by prosperity and guided by the empowerment of its people.

On the sidelines of the Frankfurt book fair, over many breakfasts and cups of coffee with fellow writers, the tangled web of Philippine politics inevitably came up for discussion, particularly at this juncture when it seems imperative to sort out the good from the bad (or, to account for the nuances of the moment, the better from the worse).
