HADAPADA Appanna is remembered as an immortal figure because of his contributions as a revolutionary vachanakara and social reformer, MLC C N Manjegowda has said.
Speaking at the Hadapada Appanna Jayanti celebration organised by the district administration and the Department of Kannada and Culture here on Tuesday, Manjegowda said there is a belief that to counter the superstitions prevailing at the time, especially the myth that encountering a person from the Hadapada community in the morning brought misfortune, Basavanna insisted that Hadapada Appanna be the first person to be met each day.
