BASAVA Samskriti Abhiyan will be organised in Bidar today in collaboration with the Lingayat Mathadhipatis Union, pro-Basava organisations and Basava Samskriti Abhiyan Committees, said Basava Samskriti Abhiyan Committee President Basavaraj Dhannur.
Addressing a press conference at the Patrika Bhawan on Monday, he said that the Basava Samskriti Abhiyan was inaugurated on Monday, September 1 at Basavanna's birthplace, Basavanna Bagewadi, and this campaign will be held in all districts of the country. The closing ceremony of the campaign will be held at the Palace Grounds in Bengaluru on October 5. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who has declared Basavanna as a cultural leader, will deliver the closing speech. He said that Basava Samskriti Abhiyan will be held on September 3 at Bidar. A Basava chariot with a portrait of Basavanna will come to Bidar and participate in the Basava Samskriti Abhiyan procession.
