Sholayar Dam near full, brims at 160 feet

DUE to incessant rain, the water level at Sholayar Dam near Valparai is brimming at 160 feet for the last three weeks.
The surplus water is being released into Kerala's Sholayar Dam for irrigation purposes.
Sources said the dam is receiving an inflow of 2,928 cusecs, and 3,323.62 cusecs is being released.
The dam's catchments received 28 mm of rainfall, and Coimbatore district recorded a total of 168.6 mm in the 24 hours ending at 7.30 am on Monday.
