Shah Assures Kerala MPs of Bail Relief for Nuns Held in Ch'garh

UNION Home Minister Amit Shah has assured Kerala MPs that the Centre will take immediate steps to secure bail for the two Kerala-based Catholic nuns arrested in Chhattisgarh on charges of religious conversion and human trafficking.
During a meeting with Kerala MPs on Thursday, Shah said the government would move swiftly to facilitate their release. He directed officials to approach the trial court again for bail and assured the MPs that the Chhattisgarh government would not oppose the application. Meanwhile, the state government and the nuns' legal team are preparing to challenge the trial court's denial of bail in the High Court.
