IN 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six – the eponymous fictional rock band at the heart of Prime Video’s new series, based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s award-winning novel – were at the height of their fame.
Their charismatic and talented lead singers Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne have fronted the band as they’ve risen from obscurity to superstardom, but being in a successful rock outfit in one of the genre’s most prolific decades doesn’t come without its challenges.
And without warning, following a soldout show in Chicago, Daisy Jones & The Six called it quits – much to music fans’ shock.
Beneath the glitz and glamour of life in a band are a complicated love story, struggles with addiction, debates around creative energy, and a whole lot of drama, which is all revealed in this documentary-style tell-all about the supernova of an iconic band.
WHO IS IN DAISY JONES & THE SIX?
This hotly anticipated adaptation has a cast full of famous faces and talented newcomers.
The titular Daisy Jones – a starlet born into privilege but ignored by her selfish parents – is played by 33-year-old Riley Keough, who hails from rock and roll royalty being the granddaughter of Elvis and daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley.
Billy Dunne, played by The Hunger Games’ Sam Claflin, is the band’s charismatic frontman who develops complicated feelings for his songwriting partner Daisy, while his girlfriend and eventual wife Camila, played by model and actress Camila Morrone, remains the band’s central force as she discovers her own potential while helping Billy follow his dreams.
