Pauls to start his rebuild by fighting Polasik in Plymouth

Dubbed the ‘Newquay Bomb’, Pauls fought for the English middleweight strap live on Sky TV last month, but was on the wrong end of a unanimous decision which went in favour of the new champion Tyler Denny.

Pauls has chosen to start his comeback at Plymouth’s Guildhall this weekend, with a clash against Patryk Polasik on the undercard of Constantin Ursu’s Southern Area title fight against Matthew King.

Known as much for his raucous fans as for doing his ringwalk in a gladiator mask, Pauls will bring an extra layer of showmanship to the show, which has been billed as Ultimate Glory and involves a hefty 11-fight card.

It is just the second home show for Greenstar Promotions, the newly-founded outfit led by promoter and trainer Jack Green.

But Green is certainly not green in any sense, and put on a previous show in Torquay in which Pauls topped the bill with a clash against Dan Blackwell.

Green said: “Brad Pauls has fought on Steve Goodwin’s previous shows down here in Devon, and he has a massive fanbase who have followed him throughout his career in Newquay. So with us being in Plymouth, it is a perfect location for Brad to return.
